Seventeen years after choosing to raise a family in Innisfil’s Ward 2, John Hurd has decided to bring his passion and commitment to our municipal council.
Striving to bring an end to the absurd spending of our tax dollars is a priority for John, who recognizes that Innisfil’s strength lies in its rich heritage of tourism and agriculture. Developing these areas is the most natural way to bring jobs to this lakeside community.
It shouldn’t need to be said, but John promises to field all the concerns of his constituents whether they are by phone or email.
The positive responses that John has received from fellow Ward 2 residents in the last 6 years have been an important factor in his decision to run. Enthusiastically leading the charge to keep the GO station in Lefroy, John channeled the voices of his community to successfully influence council in 2008. Prior to this, John’s involvement on The Town of Innisfil’s Community Liaison Committee helped shaped the current, 264-page political document known as Innisfil’s Official Plan.
John Hurd is a new breed of politician; one who’s got fresh ideas without a lifetime of political involvement to slow them down. One who wants to see prosperity meet the enormous opportunity that Innisfil affords us.
